About the Artisans

This piece is available in multiple fabrics, each handcrafted by a different artisan community across Latin America.

The Purple Multicolor and Navy Blue Arrows fabrics are handwoven by Don Manuel & Family in Nahuala, Guatemala, using a traditional weaving loom passed down through generations. Manuel de Jesus, his family, and the entire village just outside of Nahuala weave not only as a source of income but to keep their culture and traditions alive

The Cream Multicolored fabric is sourced by Sandra from Aguayos in Cusco, Peru, someone who welcomed us with kindness when we visited her store in 2021 and taught us what every pattern represented.

Then this piece is sewn by the founder, Caro Arias, in Wendell, NC. Caro has been sewing since she was 12 years old and fell in love with this skill because it brought her closer to her mom, a highly skilled seamstress.

Delivery Time

Each piece is handmade to order and will be ready in 4–8 weeks. If you need it sooner, email us at hola@descalza.co with your order number and what you have in mind, and we'll do our best to make it work.

Fabric Content

The artisanal fabrics from Guatemala are 100% cotton. The Peru fabric is 100% acrylic wool.
