Everything you love about our best-selling Mondragon, now cropped. The Mini Mondragon sits at the waist instead of the hip. Picture it as a shawl with sleeves. Open front, batwing silhouette, the same handwoven artisan fabric as the original. Cozy enough for a lazy Sunday, put-together enough for everything else.
Made in North Carolina with fabrics handwoven by artisans in Latin America. Meet the people behind your fabric at our Our Story page.
This piece is available in multiple fabrics, each handcrafted by a different artisan community across Latin America.
The Blue, Red, and & White Striped fabric is handwoven by Don Manuel & Family in Nahuala, Guatemala, using a traditional weaving loom passed down through generations. Manuel de Jesus, his family, and the entire village just outside of Nahuala weave not only as a source of income but to keep their culture and traditions alive.
The Cream Multicolored fabric is sourced by Sandra from Aguayos in Cusco, Peru, someone who welcomed us with kindness when we visited her store in 2021 and taught us what every pattern represented.
Each fabric option is then sewn by Doña Magdalena in Sanford, North Carolina, who brings over 30 years of craftsmanship to every piece she makes.
The artisanal fabric from Guatemala is 100% cotton. The Peru fabric is 100% acrylic wool.
Each piece is handmade to order and will be ready in 4–6 weeks. If you need it sooner, email us at hola@descalza.co with your order number and what you have in mind, and we'll do our best to make it work.
